Board Breaks
Students submit their selected breaking technique and desired board color to Delta Black Belt Academy’s certified instructors for approval prior to testing. Students are not allowed to perform the same break in successive Rank Testing unless it is in a required combination. However, students may attempt to perform the same break in midterms or after a No Change.
Note: as much as possible, board breaks should be made without pause or hesitation between techniques – as in an actual combat or self-defense situation. The breaking techniques should flow like a combination, not as unconnected moves. While board breaking demonstrates the power of techniques, it should also demonstrate the graceful power of the martial artist.
